PROMARK was founded in 1957 by Herb Brochstein, the owner of the professional drummer and drum specialty store.PROMARK is a family owned philosophy brand that remains the same even after DAddario acquired Promark from Herb son, Maury in 2011.The offices are left in Houston, Texas, and produced drum sticks from their 90,000 square foot facility using Hickory, Maple and Japanese White Oak Oak Oak factory.
Because of its good balance of resilience, responsiveness, and durability, Hickory is a wood widely used in traditional drum sticks. PROMARK American Hickory Drum Sticks have a wide lineup of wood chips, nylon tips, lacquer finishes, natural finishes, "ActiveGrip" which reacts to heat for a more comfortable grip, and "FireGrain" which is highly durable through heat treatment.
