How to troubleshoot
Q. Why does this external drive appear on your desktop after connecting to your computer?
A .1.Make sure the drive and laptop are connected correctly.For desktops, please connect to the USB port behind the computer host.
2. Optical drive needs 3-5V output from computer USB port (read 5V/write 1.1~1.5A current)Please make sure the power supply is sufficient when you connect the external optical drive to your computer.
3.To connect with your laptop or desktop, please use the data cable on the back, not the power cable in the package.
Q: Unrecognizable by computer or cannot play blue-ray/CD/DVD.
1. Plug this external CD DVD drive into Mac OS and insert the disc, then the disc will appear on the desktop.
2. Do not connect with USB HUB, connect directly to computer.
3.Make sure the drive driver is built in.If the DVD/CD-ROM drive is error, please uninstall the driver and restart the computer.Or try it on a different computer.
4. Please make sure you have the correct playback software for this external CD drive, and it is the correct format.
5. Please make sure the playback/write software is compatible with this computer system.
Q: Is it compatible with Mac OS and Windows 10?
A: Make sure you have built-in driver software and correct playback software. Note: Before connecting an external DVD player, please be sure to install a media player such as the VLC Media Player. This is not an electronic player issue, because the default player is not installed on Windows 10.
For mac OS, use mac command to take out the disc and after the drive has read the disk normally, the icon on the DVD drive will be displayed.
If this external Blu-ray DVD player works with Mac OS, connect to your Mac, the icon will not appear on the desktop.Mac OS computers do not display device icon before putting the disc into the disc tray.For Mac OS, use mac-commands to retrieve the disk.If the eject button/computer command does not work, please paste the emergency hole to force the disk to eject it.To connect to computer, please use the data cable embedded on the back, not the power cable.
First, open the macbook pro desktop and click on the optical drive icon you would like to pop up.Right click the optical drive icon and click "Eject from the pop-up list.Then the optical drive is automatically removed and inserted the disc you want to read.You can also click cmmand+e shortcut keys on your computer desktop.Then you can take out the macbook pro optical drive.
