Description

The ZWO ASI224MC is an affordable, fine-tunable monochrome astronomical camera that allows you to capture images of planets, moons, and sun (with safe solar filters) through your telescope. The camera has a 1.2 megapixel CMOS sensor and high capacity efficiency to minimize exposure time and noise. The sensor pixels are 3.75 microns in size, small enough to capture solar system astronomy and large enough to capture low-noise images of bright nebula, galaxy, and star clubs. The ASI224MC is a fast version of ZWOs ASI120MC-S camera with more advanced CMOS sensor. With a full resolution of 1304x976, this cameras USB 3.0 interface can transfer up to 150 frames per second. Lower resolution can download up to 299 fps These speeds make it easy to create high quality images of solar system astronomies, especially Jupiter and Saturn. ASI224MC is a tough and attractive CNC machined red anodized aluminum body that can be used in harsh environments. All software and drivers for this camera are available from the manufacturers website. This camera is compatible with Windows (32-bit & 64-bit) XP or later version, Mac OS X. Note: This camera is best used with refractor telescopes mounted on equatorial ritual cradle which can accurately track the movement of the sky. Not intended to take pictures from the telescopes eyepiece. The camera produces color images without the need for additional filters, but additional accessories or filters may be required for best results. All software and drivers for this camera are available from the manufacturers website.
