Description

A half size towel handkerchief made in Ijo Kuri, a traditional cotton fabric made in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.

Ijo Kazuri is one of the three major Japanese kuri with Kurume and Bigo Kazuri. The gentle texture of cotton and the calm color scheme based on deep indigo color scheme is attractive.Once it was widely used in Japan as a kimono for common people, it boasts the highest production capacity in Japan around 1965. However, the business agences reached the road of attenuation due to the great depression of Japanese clothing and decline in Japanese clothing. While the survivance of Iho Kazuri is still risky, it is still active to preserve its precious weaving techniques in the afterworld. As those involved in the same "Iyo no Woven", we created Imabari Towel Handkerchief with traditional patterns from Ijokazuri.Enjoy the glossy, absorbency, and rustic texture of cotton.
