This product measures the oil temperature in the crankcase or splashing oil and does not measure the oil temperature on the bottom of the oil pan.
Please warm the engine enough for the direction of the dial before turning it in the desired direction.
Although it is brand new, there may be some stains or rubbing on the main unit due to shipping.
Please be aware of small scratches that may not be affected by use.
