Description

This is a machine strained washi paper produced in Aoyani.
Washi paper measures approximately 5.9 x 5.9 inches (150 x 150 mm), 50 sheets per set.

◆ Machine strained and processed using paper
The sheet dyed is called "Kyoketsu" in weaves, and is made using washi paper in the Nara period.
The process uses washi paper to create the desired shape over and over again, and fold it into a large or small size, between the boards, string and dip only the parts that protrude from the board into the dye.
Different patterns can be revealed depending on how you fold it and can also be dyed in an ombre pattern.
The pressure of the board is tightened with a string, which prevents the dyes from irregular bleeding into washi paper and has a blurring effect.
