Many of the technological ideas used in todays boots are developed by Chippewa, and the plainto service boot was born in 1939, with a sole that is mixed with crushed cork in the outsole. Compared to the leather soles of the time, the outsole has excellent flexibility and is made to be easy to wear. The rubber heel was adopted for the first boots that were developed in black. The upper of this boot is made of leather with a strong oil feel from Horwin. The outsole uses Chippewas original Vibram Heritage Cork sole.
