This is a lens hood compatible with the Canon ET-60B & Canon EW-53 lens hood.
The lens hood will be attached to the lens to extend the end of the lens.
Prevents unwanted light from entering the lens.

It will also help protect the lens from external impact.
It can attach a 55mm protective filter and a Φ55mm lens cap.
It can attach a 49mm protective filter and a 49mm lens cap.
