「ドクター アッシー」は日本人男性に多い「甲高、幅広」の足の方でも楽に履ける靴づくりをするメンズシューズブランド。
「甲高·幅広」が多い日本人にとって、履きやすい靴は以外と少ないもの。「ドクターアッシー」の靴は、そんな「甲高·幅広」の足でも比較的履きやすい「オブリーク·トゥ」という、つま先形状を足形に沿わせた木型のモデルからスタートしました。
この木型がアシンメトリ(非対称)の形をしていることから、ブランド名「アッシー」のネーミングが誕生しました。
もちろん、この木型のおかげで靴の中でも足は楽々。指先でしっかりと大地を感じることができます。
サラリーマンは、スーツにもコーディネートできて、かつスニーカーのように軽い靴が欲しくなることがありますが、「ドクターアッシー」はポリウレタン製の靴底を採用することで、スニーカー並の軽さ(片足約350g)の実現に成功しています。
