The material is reinforced cardboard with "Bi-Wall AA" which is structural theoretical and can withstand a weight of 200 Kg.
It is made at a specialty cardboard manufacturing factory, so it is very sturdy and stable even though it is made of cardboard material.
Since there is no snappies or bell inside, the sound is a rustic "pop," but the volume is sufficient so you can use it with an ensemble.
