If you need to replace your computer thermal paste/pad:

Thermal paste and thermal pads must be replaced every time you remove the heatsink (for cleaning, upgrading, or other maintenance) When removing the heat sink, it is very important to replace the thermal pad and rubberized thermal paste that many manufacturers use on memory chips. Re-using the same thermal pad or paste makes the heatsink impossible to fit perfectly again and the components will overheat and break immediately.
If your computer is overheated or the power off after a few hours of use. In this case, the entire heatsink system should be cleaned immediately and replaced with all thermal paste and thermal pads. "
