Agop Tomurcuk, the founder of Istanbul Agop company, was born in 1941 in Istanbul, Turkey and grew up in Samatya near Istanbul and began working as the only cymbal craftsman in Turkey at 9 years old after two brothers. The Agop learned a variety of things here and became experts in each process to help reinvent every aspect of cymbal making. Ultimately served as a cymbal artisan beam, the company stopped producing cymbal in Turkey in 1977.

After that, the Jogop had a variety of jobs for about a year, and felt like a fish on land. And he decided to continue making a traditional Turkish handmade cymbal with his hands.
