The meter holder is not required, and the depth is approximately 1.4 inches (36 mm).

No power wiring is required to add meters.
The various operations can be performed with the function button on the back of the meter, but you can also set it up with the remote control for the Autogauge RMT series (sold separately).
You can easily use the entire DX series meter in one remote control.
