E.W.S. SUBTLE VOLUME CONTROL (SVC) is a device born in collaboration with E.W.S. (Engineering Work Store) based on the idea of Scott Henderson.Scott Henderson uses SVCs to connect between amplifier effect loops.This allows you to control only the volume without changing the sound set to the preamp part of the amplifier.Or it is commonly used to control the overall volume by incorporating it into the effect board.
The SVC is not an effector, so there is no need for a battery or other power supply.

Note:
This product is a volume control for low impedance circuits.Connected directly from the output jack of the passive circuit electric guitar, the high range properties degrade and become a so-called "clumy" sound, even lower the volume, but this is not a malfunction.Basically, as well as the volume pedals for low impedance, connect in low impedance circuits, such as the position behind effect loops and effectors.
Also, even if they are connected to the back of the effector, if the switch circuits are "True Bypass" specification, all effectors will be substantial passive circuit, which will deteriorate the high range.
